MONTICELLO – Freshman quarterback Hayden Davis scored two touchdowns and the Lawrence County Cougars shut out Franklin County 15-0 Friday night in a jamboree game. It was a major turnaround for the Cougars who lost a 40-8 decision during a spring game at Franklin County in early May.

“Our kids played hard in all phases of the game,” said first-year LCHS head coach Herbert Davis. “It shows how our team’s confidence has grown. We are still 0-0 and we have a whole season ahead of us.”

The Cougars debut Friday night at Wesson. Kickoff is 7 p.m. in Co-Lin’s Stone Stadium.

The Cougars finished with 166 yards total offense compared to FC’s 34 yards. Davis completed 4 of 9 passes for 70 yards.
