BC roars past McComb

BOGUE CHITTO – The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats cruised past the McComb Lady Tigers 11-3 Thursday night in slowpitch softball action.

“We hit the ball well,” said BC coach Scott Leggett. “McComb had several hits as well. I was very pleased with our effort.”

The Lady Cats (3-1) visit Wesson Tuesday to tangle with the Lady Cobras. Junior varsity begins at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity at 6.

 Bogue Chitto 11, McComb 3

The Lady Cats overcame a sluggish start in the first inning to claim a 5-1 lead in the fourth inning.

In the fifth inning, BC continued to increase their lead as they pushed across six runs to take a 11-2 lead and held McComb to just one run in the seventh inning.

Brook Myers was the winning pitcher for the Lady Cats with no strikeouts and two walks.

Leyton Terrell suffered the loss for the Lady Tigers with no strikeouts and two walks.

Mallory Allen and Earlnesheia Dillon were the offensive leaders for BC with three singles each. Jordan McKinney and Christian Black provided a double and a single apiece. Mattie Avants and Alexis Givens contributed a pair of singles. Hitting safely were Colby Kirkland, Terrah Nelson and Myers.

Shatonia Coney, Paige Brock and Terrell directed the Lady Tigers’ offense with two singles apiece. Katie Kalusche, Freneshia Harris, Kristen Coney, Dorian Felder and Coney Quentin hit safely.

In JV action, Bogue Chitto defeated McComb 8-2.

Lauren McCaffery tossed the win for the Lady Cats with six strikeouts and one walk.

Daley Roberts led BC on offense with two singles. Marshonikique Black ripped a double. Reagan Kirkland, Baileigh Jackson and McCaffery hit safely.
