Maggie Jean Grant, 87, died Aug. 20, 2013 in Isola.

Funeral services were Thursday at Green Crest Cemetery in Belzoni.

Mrs. Grant was born to Sadie and Claude Chunn on Dec. 22, 1925.

She is survived by her three children, Jimmy (Diane) Grant of Isola, Linda (John) Stapleton of Brookhaven and Tommy Grant of Oxford. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, Shannon, Jennifer, Walt, David, Malissa, Steven, Alex, Grant and April. Mrs. Grant was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren, Emma, Sydney, Madison, Jay, John Arthur, Ailee, Grant and Macy.

Mrs. Grant lived most of her life in Yazoo County. She moved to Humphreys County in 1976. She was an active member of First Baptist Belzoni. She was retired from the Selective Service Draft Board. Her hobbies were cooking and rose gardening. She was an avid Ole Miss fan. Heaven will rejoice when Granny comes with her homemade roll and apple dumplins.

She loved the Lord, her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Serving as pallbearers were David Grant, Alex Stapleton, Weston Watts, Jay Grant, Walt Grant, Grant Stapleton and Rosevelt Washington.
