Lady Cobras skin South Pike

WESSON – The Wesson Lady Cobras feasted on the South Pike Lady Eagles to claim a 13-3 victory Tuesday night in slowpitch softball action.
The Lady Cobras (6-1) return to action Thursday. They host the Puckett Lady Wolves. Junior varsity begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6.

Cheyenne Gladden was the winning pitcher for the Lady Cobras.
Sarah Robinson, Kayla Britt and Kaitlyn Smith provided the offensive punch to lead Wesson with a double and a single each. Bailey Middleton ripped three singles. Aurianna Vaughn, Hailey Chassion and Gladden contributed a pair of singles apiece. Harmoni Ashley singled.
In JV action, Wesson shut out South Pike 18-0.
Mary Beth Munn provided the spark to direct Wesson’s offense with two doubles and two singles. Anna Speights fueled the flames with a double and two singles. Sabria Green and Abby Merefith added a double and a single each. Hitting safely were Brooke Page, Carrie McSweyn, Katie Westbrook and Melody Ashley.
