Services for James Hilton Furr are 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with interment at Little Bahala Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 5 until 7:30 p.m., also at Riverwood.

Mr. Furr, 85, of Wesson, passed away Sept. 4, 2013 at his home. He was born on April 6, 1928 to Mack C. Furr and Vallie Mae Morgan Furr.

He was a retired dairy farmer and a member of Little Bahala Baptist Church. He also served in the U.S. Navy.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Dot Furr; his sons, Virgil, Randy and Wayne Furr; his parents, Mack and Vallie Mae Furr; and two grandchildren, Bubba and Christina Furr.

He is survived by his son, Dr. Mack Furr and wife, Lisa, of Costa Rica; a devoted niece, Sandra Sandifer; and his caretaker, Rita Burnett. He also is survived by seven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
