Funeral services for Jewell Tisdale of Hazlehurst are 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, at Stringer Family Funeral Services in Hazlehurst, with burial in Bethel Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m. and Friday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Tisdale, 72, died Sept. 4, 2013 at Hardy Wilson Memorial Hospital.

Jewell began her career as a dental assistant working for Dr. Peter B. Perkins in Hazlehurst. She and husband, Woody, moved and lived in several states where she worked as an office manager for various dental practices before moving to Hazlehurst in 1992. She retired from Dr. Keith Griffin’s practice in Brandon after 15 years of service.

Mrs. Tisdale was a member of Hazlehurst United Methodist Church. She attended Bethel Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, D.M. and Wilma Granger, and husband, Woody.

She is survived by her daughters, Becky Bozeman and husband, Steve, of Hazlehurst, Marty Stennett of Zachary, La., and Lynn Bozeman and husband, Neal, of Brookhaven; brothers, Derrell Granger and wife, Jimmie Dale, and Houston Granger and wife, Regenia, all of Hazlehurst; sister, Joyce Palmer and husband, Jimmy, of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Mandy Sherman and husband, Josh, Stephen Bozeman and wife, Kaitlyn, Jeffrey Bozeman Jr., Mary Claire Stennett, Grace Bozeman, Jacob Bozeman, Abby Bozeman, Meredith Bozeman and Rachel Bozeman; and great-granddaughter, Gracie Sherman.
