Funeral services for John Patrick “Pat” Rutland of Ruth are 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Calvary United Pentecostal Church, with burial in Rutland Family Cemetery in Lawrence County. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Rutland, 53, died Sept. 7, 2013 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, La. He was born in Mississippi on March 20, 1960.

He was the owner of F & R Steel Erectors, Inc. and a member of Calvary United Pentecostal Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, John Thomas Rutland and Sara Evon Dunhurst.

Survivors are his wife, Rita Fay Lambert Rutland; son, Devin Rutland and wife, Mindy, and Kevin Rutland and wife, Haley; daughters, Tiffany Herring and husband, Prentiss, and Nicole Travis and husband, Allen; brothers, Gail Rutland and wife, Sue, Braxton Rutland and wife, Sadra, Tommy Rutland and wife, Kathy, Joe Rutland and wife, Theresa, and Ronnie Rutland; sisters, Burtie Temple, Glenda Mulberry, Jeanette and Bonnie Phillips; 10 grandchildren, Nikki, Dustin and Alana Travis, Danielle and Hunter Callendar, Christian Herring, Hannah Rayburn, Harley and Hollis Rutland and Patrick Rutland; and great-grandchild, Malyna Lynn Martin.
