West Lincoln girls sixth overall in Madison run

RIDGELAND – The West Lincoln girls finished sixth overall in the Madison Central Cross Country meet. Nineteen schools participated in the event, with West Lincoln’s Lexis Leggett finishing among 500 student-athletes with a time of 19:54 in the 4K distance.

Lillianne Rushing helped the Lady Bears with a time of 19:58. Carly Holden came in at 21:24, Carlie Smith at 22:47 and Britnee Blakeney at 27:09.

The varsity boys placed ninth in their 5K run. Jason Watts posted a time of 19:52. Matthew Allred finished with a time of 20:17, Matt Gill at 24:36, Hunter Maxwell at 25:34 and Liam Rutland at 25:49.

In junior high action, West Lincoln’s boys and girls teams finished in sixth place.

The Lady Bears junior high girls were led by at Georganna Allen with a time of 22:05. Jana Case posted a time of 23:29, and Skylar Hall came in at 25:33, Megan Gerald at 26:11 and Leann Chisholm at 26:17.

For the junior high boys, Matthew Geis led the Bears with a time of 20:59. Jordan Montgomery came in with a time of 22:24, Adam Martinez at 25:03, Baylie Hughes at 25:12 and Garrison Coffey at 27:02.

The next action for West Lincoln will be Thursday, Sept. 12, at Natchez High.
