Funeral services for Dewey Levon Howell of Jayess are 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, at Divide Methodist Protestant Church in Monticello, with burial in the church cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until at the church.

Mr. Howell, 80, died Sept. 8, 2013 at his home.

He enjoyed participating in church activities and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edna Hall Howell and Percy Webster Howell; brothers, Buel Howell, Buford Howell and Wilmer Howell; and ex-wife, Sonja Howell.

Survivors include his daughters, Tina Lambert and husband, Tracy, of Jayess, Shirley Fuller and husband, Wilmer, of Monticello, Tangi Barnett of Monticello, Steffni Davis of Baton Rouge, La. and Mona Pelligren; sons, Ronnie Howell of Jayess and Ricky Howell and wife, Rhonda, of Texas; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Howell of Monticello; and sisters, Louise Walker of Brookhaven and Vonice Thompson of Monticello.

Pallbearers will be Austin Davis, Blake Davis, Mike Catt, Dustin Barnett, Wesley Howell and Donnie Howell.
