Lady Jags cruise past South Pike

SUMMIT – The North Pike Lady Jaguars feasted on the South Pike Lady Eagles to claim a 14-2 triumph Tuesday night in slowpitch softball action.
The Lady Jags (11-3, 1-1) resume action Thursday. They will invade Bogue Chitto to battle the Bogue Chitto Lady Cats. Junior varsity begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6.
North Pike 14, South Pike 2
The Lady Jaguars came out and quickly took care of business Tuesday night by out hitting the Lady Eagles 17-3 to secure the victory in four innings of action.
Whitley Howell was the winning pitcher for the Lady Jags with no strikeouts and five walks. McKenzie Brock (0K, 0BB) pitched one inning in relief.
MiShayla Ashley took the loss for South Pike with one strikeout and three walks.
Sarah Brock directed the offensive charge for North Pike with three singles. Rickera Martin and Jordan Fitzgerald continued the onslaught with a double and a single apiece. Madison Bigner, Jana McEwen, Lauren Wells and McKenzie Brock contributed a pair of singles. Alli Summer had a double and Madison Bates singled.
South Pike was led offensively by a single each from Taylor Weatherspoon, Tysheka Matthews and Adrianna Smith.
In JV action, North Pike crushed South Pike 12-3.
Baylee Bryant and Janiah Talbert were the offensive leaders for the Lady Jags with a double and a single apiece. Summers provided a double. Hitting safely were Jami Spears, Linley Smith, Reanna Ivey, Jenna Brock and Katlyn Simpson.
