LCHS Lady Cougars blank McComb

MONTICELLO-The Lawrence County Lady Cougars defeated the McComb Lady Tigers 10-0, in 5 innings, in Division 7-4A slowpitch softball action Tuesday night.
Meleah Howard’s girls scored 5 runs in the second, and 5 more in the bottom of the fifth, to close out the game via the 10-run rule.
With the win, the Lady Cougars improved to 12-1-1 overall, and 4-0 in division play. Lawrence County will be in action next on Thursday night, on the road against Brookhaven.
Jazmin Thomas and Lexie Johnson each had 3 hits to pace Lawrence County’s 13-hit attack. Alyssa Pendergrass, Madison Hyde, Jamie Martin, Alexsundria Thomas, Cierra Horton, Callie Fortenberry and Elizabeth Smith also had hits.
Bethany Davis had McComb’s only hit off of LCHS pitcher Barri Rogers, a second inning single.
