The Daily Leader’s new and enhanced website is online today. While the site’s address – www.dailyleader.com – remains the same, the look and feel of your online local newspaper has been totally redesigned.

The site will include more articles to read and clearer links to information local readers want and need. Local and regional content also will be enhanced.

“The Internet is a rapidly evolving medium, and The Daily Leader will remain in the forefront of distribution of digital news and content to our local community,” Daily Leader publisher Rick Reynolds said in announcing the new website.

“We look forward to utilizing all the tools available to us to serve our community with the latest digital online and mobile information.” The new website also incorporates an easy-to-use layout and responsive design that automatically adapts to your device, whether computer, tablet or smart phone.

“Professionally reporting local news and information remains our specialty. We know readers have different preferences as to news consumption,” Reynolds said. “Whether in print, digital by computer, tablet or mobile device, our mission is to make our community’s news available to them in the form they prefer.

“In a recent independent survey, 77 percent of consumers in the Brookhaven area said they read our products, in print and online,” he added.

The new format will provide for additional local advertising options, video, mobile applications and social media interactivity.

The site will remain free to current Daily Leader print subscribers with an online registration. Non-subscribers will have the option to purchase an online subscription or participate in a brief consumer survey to access stories and feature content.

Print subscribers can simply select the “Click Here to Subscribe and Skip the Survey” button. On the next page that appears, they should select the green text, “Are you a print subscriber?”

Print subscribers then will be prompted to verify their print subscription by entering their last name and the street number of their address. Then they can easily set up their online account by entering their first and last name, email address and a desired password.

At that point, the new online account will be set up and the print subscriber will also be a website subscriber.

Those who do not have a print subscription also can subscribe to the website by creating a new account and paying for the subscription.
