Gertrude G. Janett, 97, passed away Sept. 24, 2013, at Golden Living Center-Brook Manor. She was born in Wisconsin on Nov. 5, 1915, to William Thiele and Augusta S. Thiele.

Mrs. Janett was of the Lutheran faith. She was a volunteer hostess at King’s Daughters Medical Center.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husbands, Ewald B. Janett and Norman Goetz; sister, Ruth Mielke; and brother, Donald Thiele.

Survivors are her son, Tom Goetz and wife, Laurie, of Brookhaven; sister, Dorothea Waak of Manitowoc, Wis.; two grandchildren, Terry Goetz and wife, Becky, of Hattiesburg, and Gale Boyd and husband, Dr. Garland Boyd, of Brookhaven; and four great-grandchildren, Jessica Boyd, Kallie Rose Boyd, Sarah Brinkley and husband, Darrin, and Aaron Getz and wife, Angie.

There will be a visitation and memorial service at Riverwood Family Funeral Service at a later time.
