Lady Bears sweep Tourney

RICHLAND – The West Lincoln Lady Bears secured a sweep in the Richland softball tournament Saturday.

West Lincoln crushed the Pearl Lady Pirates 14-0, blanked the Richland Lady Rangers 10-0 and buried the Vicksburg Lady Gators 11-4.

The Lady Bears (14-5-1, 3-0) continue action Monday as they host a varsity double header. West Lincoln battles Amite County at 5 p.m. and hosts the Puckett Lady Wolves at 6:30 p.m.

West Lincoln 14, Pearl 0 

Heather Moak was the winning pitcher in all three games. She struck out a total of three batters and allowed only one walk in the three-games series.

Alli Mullins was the offensive leader for the Lady Bears with a home run and a single. Layton Sills contributed a triple and a single. Destiny Allen ripped a triple. Karley Smith had a pair of singles. Hitting safely were Hanna Moa, Micah Redd, Brianna Fauver and Heather Moak.

West Lincoln 10, Richland 0 

Bentley Sills and Allen provided the offensive punch to lead West Lincoln with a home run apiece. Malori Hall, Layton Sills and Micah Redd helped with two singles each. Hanna Moak, Heather Moak, Makennah Redd, Anna Brooke Davis and Karley Smith hit safely.

West Lincoln 11, Vicksburg 4 

Allen conducted the offensive spark to lead the Lady Bears with a home run. Hanna Moak fueled the flames with three singles. Micah Redd, Bentley Sills and Fauver contributed a pair of singles. Hall and Smith hit safely.
