North Pike surpasses McComb

MCCOMB – The North Pike Lady Jaguars managed to knock off the McComb Lady Tigers for a 8-5 victory Thursday night in Region 7-4A slowpitch softball action.

North Pike and McComb battled back-and-forth in a tough divisional contest until the Lady Jags scored four runs in the fifth inning to secure the win.

McKenzie Brock pitched the win for North Pike with one strikeout and two walks.

Leyton Terrell suffered the setback for the Lady Tigers with no strikeouts and no walks.

Lauren Wells sparked the Lady Jags at the plate with a home run and a double. Alli Summers and Madison Bigner fueled the charge with a home run and a single. Sarah Brock provided a double and a single. Baylee Bryant had two singles. Hitting safely were Linley Smith, Danaraye Parks and Rickera Martin.

Katie Kalusche was the offensive leader for McComb with a home run. Freneshia Harris and Ashley Bond contributed double each. Shatonia Coney, Bethany Davis, Paige Brock and Terrell hit safely,

In JV action, North Pike clobbers McComb 16-8.

Baylee Bryant directed the Lady Jags (6-2-1) with three singles. Jami Spears, Kaitlyn Simspon and Jenna Brock provided a pair of singles. Hitting safely were Madison Moak, Reanna Ivey, Mary Kate Bates, Janiah Talbert, Whitley Howell and Linley Smith.
