Funeral services for Benjamin Head of Port Arthur, Texas, are 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Stringer Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Strong Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Head, 23, passed away Sept. 27, 2013, at his residence. He was a member of Strong Hope Baptist Church.

He graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in accounting. He was a member of Beta Alpha Psi, Phi Theta Kappa and Sigma Alpha Lambda and enjoyed weight lifting.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, E.B. and Dessie Pruitt and Everette and Dorris Head.

Survivors are his parents: Ira Head and Cherry Pruitt Head of Wesson; uncles, Donnie Pruitt of Midland, Texas, and Garland Page of Hazlehurst; aunt, Becky Litton of Fort Collins, Colo.; and fiancé, Maurene Hughs, of Starkville.

Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is in charge of arrangements.
