Lady Bears place 13th

CLINTON – The West Lincoln girls finished 13th in the mammoth Watson Ford Classic cross-country meet held at Choctaw trails. Sixty-five schools, represented by 1,150 student-athletes, participated.

Lillanne Rushing led the Lady Bears with a time of 19:36. Lexis Leggett was next with 20:34. Also competing for the West Lincoln in the Division II Girls 4K run were Carly Holden at 23:46; Carlie Smith, 23:59, and Destiny Allen, 25:07. The varsity boys’ team finished in 18th place. Jason Watts paced the Bears with a time of 19:58. Matthew Allred, 20:23; Matt Gill, 23:25; Kodie Carroll, 25:30 and Michael Quin, 29:30, also competed for the Bears in the Division II Boys 5K run.

In the junior varsity division, the West Lincoln boys finished sixth in the 3200-meter run.

Matthew Geis led West Lincoln with a time of 13:16. Jordan Montgomery, 14:02; Adam Martinez, 14:39, Baylie Hughes, 16:13; and Garrison Coffey, 16:23, also posted times.

West Lincoln’s JV girls placed seventh in the 3200-meter distance. The Lady Bears were led by Georganna Allen with a time 17:00. Jana Case, 17:08; Megan Gerald, 19:31; Skylar Hall, 20:09; and Morgan Newman, 21:07, also ran.

West Lincoln’s next meet is Saturday, Oct. 19, at Madison Central.
