Paul Douglas Clanton, 68, of Brookhaven, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center.
Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Brookhaven Funeral Home. Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Brookhaven. Burial will be in Sarepta Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Clanton was born Feb. 7, 1945, in Natchez, to LeRoy Clanton and Mamie Ezell Clanton.
He was a retired teacher and coach. He worked at Murrah High School for 24 years. He also worked at Bogue Chitto Attendance Center, Brookhaven Academy, Southwest Mississippi Community College, Franklin County High School and Adams County Christian School in Natchez.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Lee Roy Clanton, John Clanton, Lamar Clanton, James Clanton, Dewey Clanton and Oscar Clanton; his sisters, Annabell Strahan, Louise Cupit, Seleta Kennedy and Emily Scott.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Lancaster Clanton of Brookhaven; his sons, John Paul Clanton and wife E. Noel of Dallas and Donald Edward Clanton and his wife Heather of Hattiesburg; his brother, Billy Clay Clanton and wife, Shirley of Franklin County; his grandchildren, Dajon Clanton, Tayler Clanton, Jazmine Clanton, Chris Moore, Decarlos Thomas, Ryneisha Thomas, Abby Noel, Morgan Stansell and McKenzie Stansell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
