Funeral services for Marjorie Barlow Hamilton, will be Friday, Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. at Stringer Family Chapel with burial in Hazlehurst Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Hamilton, 76, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Hardy Wilson Memorial Hospital.

She was born on Dec. 21, 1936, to Harvey and Etta Jenkins Barlow. She was a successful businesswoman for over 30 years. She opened Cannons Coiffures where she worked as a cosmetologist and also was the owner of Hazlehurst Jewelers. She and Evelyn Hall started Hallmark Realty where she thrived as a real estate agent for years.

She was a lifelong resident of Copiah County and a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother, wife and grandmother, as well as a caring friend to many. She will be greatly missed by her family and loved ones she leaves behind.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Etta Barlow; her brother, Freddie Barlow; granddaughter, April Tompkins Roskowski; great-granddaughter, Kara Leigh Darby and great-grandsons, Gavin O’Bryant Tompkins and Gunner Owen Tompkins.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Wayne Hamilton; sons, Donald Cannon (Regina) and Ronald Garrett Cannon Sr. (Nicki) all of Hazlehurst, and Ronald Garrett Cannon Jr. (Elizabeth) of Clinton; daughter, Marjorie Reneé Tompkins of Hazlehurst; grandsons, Robert Gregory Tompkins, Jr. and Hunter Garrett Cannon; granddaughters, Britney Cannon Dickson and Kayla Hudson Cannon; and seven great-grandchildren.
