Funeral services for Alcus Jearl Davis Sr. are 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, at Providence Baptist Church with burial at Ruth Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 5 until 9 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church.

Mr. Davis, 79, died Nov. 7, 2013, at his residence. He was born on March 18, 1934, to Marvin and Eula Mae Walker Davis.

He was a oilfield consultant, a Master Mason and a United States Army veteran. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Earl Davis; and sisters, Annie Mae Gunnell and Oni Fay Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Davis; son, Alcus Jearl Davis Jr. and wife, Donna Sue; daughters, Suzanne Davis Smith and husband, Terry, Theresa Davis Leggett and husband, Ladell, and Rhonda Davis Murphy and husband, Tim; brothers, J.M. Davis, Billy Gene Davis and wife, Frances, Richard Davis and wife, Sybil, and Ray Davis and wife, Elaine; grandchildren, Jake Smith and wife, Stephanie, Zachary Smith and wife, Holly, Chris Davis, Emily Wells and husband, Chris, Niki Carnley and husband, Donovon, Katy East and husband, Sam, Josh Murphy and wife, Jessica, Brittany Acosta and husband, Josh, Sarah Davis, Stacie Murphy, Travis Leggett, and Ethan Davis; and 17 great-grandchildren.
