Funeral services for Betty Francis Sandifer of Brookhaven are 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, at Holly Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Glen McInnis and the Rev. David Moree presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive.

Mrs. Sandifer, 75, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at home. She was born Jan. 21, 1938.

Preceding her in death were her father, Thomas Grover Bess; her brother, Thomas Darrell Bess; her sister, Barbara Ann Melder, and three great-grandchildren.

Survivors are her husband, Marvin H. Sandifer Jr. of Brookhaven; her mother, Mary Elizabeth Bess nee Diehl of Milan, Texas; her son, Marvin T. Sandifer Sr. and wife Terry of Ruth; her daughters, Athena Ann Kyzar of Virginia Beach, Va., Belinda Kay Sandifer of Brookhaven and Donalda Locklear of Cartersville, Ga.; her sisters, Caroline Sue Allen of Brookland, Texas; her nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers are John Harley Hutcherson, Marvin Thomas Sandifer Jr., Kristopher Joel Kyzar, Joseph Henry, Edward Ratcliff, Doyle Wayne King and Michael Ray Baker.
