Stringer 60, Enterprise 54

Stringer football may still be in the Class 1A state playoffs, but that didn’t keep fans from coming out to support their varsity basketball teams on Thursday night.

A rowdy environment proved to be too much for Enterprise to overcome in a 60-54 loss to the Red Devils. Stringer jumped out to a 9-5 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Red Devils maintained a 24-19 lead going into the halftime break. “We didn’t play up to our capabilities tonight.

“They killed us on the offensive glass and we gave up too many second chance points,” said Enterprise head coach John Knight.

Enterprise (5-1), was led by John Gray’s 18 points and 3 rebounds. Forrest Scott fired in 13 points for the Yellow Jackets.

Stringer was led by Sedric Wheaton’s 15 points.
