Co-Lin Basketball Returns from Holiday Break

WESSON – The Copiah-Lincoln basketball teams will return to the court for their first post-holiday action today as they host the Baton Rouge Community College Bears.

The Wolves and Lady Wolves are coming off of a sweep of Delgado in New Orleans during their last action on Dec. 14.

The Lady Wolves (5-4, 0-2) led in the 68-41 win over Delgado by 13 points from freshman guard Claresa Banks. Banks, a freshman from Jackson, leads the team with a 14.2 points per game average. Co-Lin will be seeking a measure of revenge from a Baton Rouge team that handed them an 80-66 defeat in their previous meeting.

The Wolves (3-6, 0-2) were 57-54 overtime winners at Delgado. Sophomore guard Chris Steverson leads the Wolves with a 13.2 points per game average. Baton Rouge defeated Co-Lin 56-49 in their previous meeting on Nov. 11.

Co-Lin will travel to Itawamba Thursday, before returning home to host MACJC South Division rival Southwest on Monday, Jan. 13.
