The Lady Panthers (12-11) got off to a great start in the early moments, holding the advantage for a majority of the game. Brookhaven, coached by Freda Craft, saw her team led by as many as 9 points. Craft’s crew led 15-10 after the opening stanza and 34-25 at halftime.

The Lady Falcons (4-16), coached by Anita Johnson, took advantage of several unforced turnovers down the stretch run by Brookhaven, cutting their deficit to 3 at 48-45 entering the final 8 minutes. Wingfield was able to knock down 9 of 11 from the free throw line in the waning moments, including a pair with under 2 seconds left on the clock to secure the win.

“We got off to a great start in the first half,” said Craft. “We just too many unforced turnovers in the second half. We did not play very well down the stretch.”
