Funeral services for Velma Aultman O’Quinn Nations of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Easthaven Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service time at 11.

Mrs. Nations, 99, died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Hospice Ministries, Ridgeland. She was born on July 7, 1914, to Patrick Melton Aultman and Maybell Broom Aultman in Covington County and grew up in Sumrall. She lived most of her life in Brookhaven, except for the past 10 years, when she resided in Jackson.

She enjoyed being a homemaker and later worked at Stahl-Urban Co. and also Benoits in Brookhaven. She was an avid gardener and took pride in her flowers and yard. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Brookhaven and taught pre-school Sunday school for many years.

Preceding her in death was her parents; husbands, Joe B. O’Quinn and Marshall Nations; and brothers, Thomas Aultman, Paul Kenneth Aultman, and Bobby Ray Aultman.

Survivors are her two daughters, Mary Jo O’Keefe, of Jackson, and Doris Panzica (Robert), of Brookhaven; her step-daughter, Floy Nations Mathis (Meade), of Brookhaven; her sister, Amy Loring, of Collins; her brothers, B.J. Aultman, of Hattiesburg; her grandsons, Richard Panzica (Becky) and Greg Panzica; and her great-grandchildren, Daniel Panzica and Haylee Panzica.
