Lady Cats swing past McComb

BOGUE CHITTO – The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats swung past the McComb Lady Tigers to grab a 14-4 victory on a chilly Tuesday night in softball action at Bogue Chitto.
In the first inning, Christian Black for the lady cats walked the first two batters from McComb. Leyton Terrell for the lady tigers got the first hit of the ballgame to score the first two batters for McComb. Christian Black struck out the next two batters to end the top of the first inning. The lady cats responded when Mattie Avants and Daley Roberts both got singles to start the bottom of the first inning. Colby Kirkland got a single to bring home three runs for the lady cats. Jordan Mckinney would get a single to bring in another run for the lady cats.
In the bottom of the third inning, the lady cats added to their lead when the bottom of the lady cats’ line-up caught on fire for Coach Scott Leggett. The lady cats added four to their lead during this time. In the fourth inning, the lady cats added two more runs to their lead. The lady tigers added to their score when Leyton Terrell got her second hit of the evening to bring in a run. The lady cats responded in the fifth inning with three more runs to end the ballgame.
Christian Black was the winning pitcher for Bogue Chitto with twelve strikeouts and 5 walks. Paige suffered the loss for the lady tigers with two strikeouts and three walks. Mattie Avants and Colby Kirkland were the top hitters for the lady cats with a pair of singles apiece. Second baseman Terrah Nelson for the lady cats had a double to add to her resume and Daley Roberts, Alexis Givens, and Jordan Mckinney all had singles for the lady cats.
In junior varsity action, the winning pitcher for the Lady Cats was Reagan Kirkland with five strikeouts and one walk.
