Wesson bites Crystal Springs

CRYSTAL SPRINGS – The Wesson Cobras traveled to Crystal Springs Tuesday night for 3A Region 7 district play and picked up a big 9-2 victory over the Tigers.

Cobras’ pitcher, junior Mack Smith, dominated the Tigers’ line up with a total of 13 strikeouts and 3 walks.

The Tigers only managed to get 3 hits for the night, which resulted in 2 runs during the 4th inning.

The big hitter of the night for the Cobras was freshman Jimmie McQuage who hit a home run. Senior Austin Crow was another top hitter with 2 singles. Wesson also got singles from Jase Alexander, Jeremy Smith, Justin Boone, and Mac McQuage.

Tiger’s pitcher, junior Taylor Hinton averaged 3 strikeouts and 7 walks. Closing pitcher, senior Gage Pinson, had 2 strikeouts and 1 walk. Crystal Springs was unsuccessful at the plate and only got three singles each from Pinson, Clayton Johnson and Keith Johnson.
