The West Lincoln Lady Bears swept the Region 6-2A doubleheader series from the Bassfield Lady Yellowjackets 15-1 and 16-4 Thursday night in softball action at West Lincoln.

The Lady Bears (7-2, 1-0) will be in action Saturday as they host the Salem Lady Wildcats. Junior varsity action starts at 11 a.m., followed by the varsity game at noon.

West Lincoln 15, Bassfield 1 

Micah Redd was the winning pitcher for the Lady Bears with nine strikeouts and one walk.

Hannah Moak and Alli Mullins powered West Lincoln’s offense with a triple and a single apiece. Redd contributed two singles. Millane Lewis ripped a triple. Hitting safely were Brianna Fauver, Malori Hall, Destiny Allen, Bentley Sills and Peyton White.

West Lincoln 16, Bassfield 4 

Malori Hall tossed Game Two victory for West Lincoln collecting seven strikeouts and allowing four walks.

Hall was also the lead at the plate with a triple and a single. Allen provided a triple. Peyton White, Karley Smith, Mullins and Fauver hit safely.
