Lady Flashes skin Wesson

WESSON- The Class 1A St. Aloysius Lady Flashes (4-4) from Vicksburg traveled to Wesson Thursday night to challenge the Wesson Lady Cobras (5-2-1) in softball action. The Lady Flashes dominated the game with a 15-9 win.

The Lady Cobras travel to Meadville Saturday, March 22, to compete in the Franklin County Tournament. Wesson plays Vicksburg at 10:15 a.m. and Enterprise at 2:00 pm.

The Lady Flashes ruled the night and defeated the Lady Cobras in a 15-9. The Wesson defense had a hard time fielding the heavy-hitting from St. Al batters.

Lady Cobras’ pitcher, Carrie McSweyn, had one strikeout and two walks. Closing pitcher, Hayley Chassion, had two strikeouts and one walk.

Wesson’s top batters were senior Sarah Robinson and freshman Sabria Green who both hit a double and single which averaged 1 RBI. Wesson also got hits from the following: Hayley Chassion- double, Kayla Britt- two singles (RBI-1), Bailey Middleton- single, Carrie McSweyn- single (RBI-1), and Abby Meredith- single.

Top fielders for the Lady Cobras were third baseman Sarah Robinson- 5 outs and short stop Bailey Middleton- 4 outs.

Lady Flashes’ pitcher, Avery Parman, pitched 7 innings averaging two strikeouts and three walk and was replaced by Allie Willis to close out the inning with one strikeout and no walks.

St. Al’s top hitters were Brooklyn Richards – 4 singles (RBI-3), Jordan McDonald- 3 singles, 1 double, and Michelle Howington – 2 singles, 1 double (RBI-2).

In junior varsity action,  The Lady Cobras dominated the Lady Flashes with a 4-0 win Thursday afternoon.

Pitcher Hayley Chassion threw four strikeouts and only walked one. Top hitters for Wesson were Kaitlyn Smith- two singles, Maddie Jones- 1 double, Hayley Chassion- 1 double, and Abby Meredith- 1 single.
