Brookhaven dominates region action

NATCHEZ – The Brookhaven Panthers remain undefeated in Region 6-5A baseball action after clobbering the Natchez Bulldogs 17-2 Tuesday night.

In late action, Brookhaven swept the Wingfield Falcons 17-1 and 19-1 in a varsity double header last Friday night. In last Saturday’s action, Terry surpassed the Panthers to take a 8-2 victory.

The Panthers (10-5, 4-0) will be in action Friday as they prepare to host Natchez at Moyer Field. Game time begins at 5 p.m.

Brookhaven 17, Natchez 

Scotty Bateman was the winning pitcher for the Panthers with three strikeouts and four walks.

Landon McCullough was the offensive leader for Brookhaven with a double and a single. Reed Jones, Brett Spring, Penn Wilson, and Bateman contributed a pair of singles. Michael Lambert ripped a double. Myles Tipton and Blaine Moak hit safely.

Terry 8, Brookhaven 

Penn Wilson suffered the setback for Ole Brook on the mound with two strikeouts and one walk. Tipton (0K, 2BB) also saw some action on the mound in relief.

Nick Kesler, McCullough, Bateman and Moak directed the Panthers at the plate with a single apiece.

Brookhaven 19, Wingfield 1 

Keslet tossed the victory for the Panthers in Game Two of the doubleheader collecting three strikeouts and had no walks. Reese Reynaud (1K, 0BB) pitched in relief.

Kesley paced the Ole Brook’s offense with two doubles. Jones provided a double and a single. Darrian Wilson had a double. Hitting safely were McCullough, Moak and Spring.

Brookhaven 17, Wingfield 1 

McCullough provided a solid pitching performance for the Panthers with five strikeouts and one walk.

Tipton powered Brookhaven at the plate with a double and two singles. Jones and Kesler fueled the flames with a double and a single apiece. Spring, Bateman and Moak hit a pair of singles. Penn Wilson had a double. McCullough ripped a triple. Stone Case and Brandon Henyard hit safely.
