Lady Bears cruise past Franklin Co.

MEADVILLE – The West Lincoln Lady Bears were victorious Tuesday night with a 13-0 shutout win over host Franklin County Lady Bulldogs in softball action.

The Lady Bears (10-3, 4-1) travel to Columbia today to take on the East Marion Lady Eagles for a big district test. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6 p.m.

The Lady Bears came out on fire and drilled the Lady Bulldogs in the first inning to claim a 9-0 lead. West Lincoln added two more runs in the third inning before clinching the victory in fifth inning with two more run.

Malori Hall tossed the victory for West Lincoln, collecting four strikeouts and only allowing two walks.

Emilee Wallace suffered the setback for the Lady Bulldogs with one strikeout and three walks.

Brianna Fauver and Micah Redd powered the Lady Bears at the plate with three singles apiece. Layton Sill hit safely.

Harley McKay provided the only hit for the Lady Bulldogs’ offense with a single.

In junior varsity action, West Lincoln (7-0) remains undefeated after knocking off Franklin County.

Peyton White and McKenzie Pyles pitched the win for the Lady Bears with a combined effort of two strikeouts and four walks.

Millane Lewis paced West Lincoln’s offense with a triple. Anna Brooke Davis provided a double. Cadie Maxwell and Lexis Leggett hit safely.
