Private family graveside services for Thad Wendell Sterling Jr. were held Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Hollywood Cemetery. Dr. David Millican officiated. Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sterling, 54, died Feb. 22, 2014. He was born on April 11, 1959, in McComb to Thad W. Sterling Sr. and Frances Louise Marbury Sterling.

He was a member of South McComb Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his paternal grandparents, Frazier and Rubye Sterling; and his maternal grandparents, John Talmadge and Roberta Marbury.

Survivors are his stepmother, Lynn Sterling of McComb; two sisters and brother-in-law, Diane and Terry Butrick of Summit and Sharon and Bart Allen of Brookhaven; two half-brothers and their wives, Michael and Beth Sterling of Southhaven, and Joseph and Beth Sterling of Kyle, Texas; step-brother, Troy Durkes of Lafayette, La.; step-sister, Kim Bullock of Monroe, La.; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations honoring his niece be sent to The Haley R. Allen Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Bank of Brookhaven.
