Funeral services for Thelma P. Rogers of Union Church are 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial in Union Church Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday, April 8, 2014, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service.

Mrs. Rogers, 92, died April 3, 2014, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, La. She was born on Jan. 31, 1922, the oldest of nine children, in Union Church to Thomas J. Pritchard and Lillie Smith Pritchard.

She retired at age 80 from Taylor-Tech Inc., where she had worked for approximately 30 years. She was also employed at Blue Bell Garment Factory in Natchez and Stahl Urban in Brookhaven during World War II.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, W.J. “Jimmy” Rogers; step-father, Robert “Bob” Pritchard; sisters, Della Mae Lee and Lillian Lazarus; grandson, Michael Portier Sr.; son-in-law Hillary Portier Sr.; and brother-in-law, Sherrod Williamson Sr.

Survivors are her one daughter, Georgia Ann Portier of Albany, La.; two sisters, Jewell Williamson of Brookhaven, Mary Downey of Hemet, Calif.; four brothers, Thomas J. Pritchard and wife, Margaret, of Jackson, Robert “Bobby” Pritchard of Seymour, Tenn., George “Lennis” Pritchard and wife, Margarita, of New Orleans, and R.W. Pritchard and wife, Becky, of Fayetteville, Ark.; five grandchildren, Charles Portier and wife, Tracey, Guy Portier and wife, Arlene, of Albany, La., Hillary Portier Jr. and wife, Rebecca, of Pumpkin Center, La., Cathi Konieczka and husband, Steve, of Phenix City, Ala., and Amanda LeBouef and husband, Anthony, of Albany, La.; and numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
