Lady Cats roll past St. Aloysius, win district

VICKSBURG – The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats roared past the St. Aloysius Lady Flashes 16-2 Friday night to win, remain undefeated and claim the Region 7-1A crown.

The Lady Cats (14-5, 6-0) return to action Tuesday as they travel up Highway 51 to Brookhaven to take on the Brookhaven Lady Panthers starting at 6:30 p.m.

The Lady Cats quickly took care of business Friday night as they overpowered the Lady Flashes to secure a 9-2 lead in the first inning.

After several scoreless innings, Bogue Chitto reunited their offensive spark in the top of the sixth inning and hammered St. Aloysius for seven more runs to claim the win on the mercy rule.

Alana Nettles pitched the win for the Lady Cats, collecting five strikeouts and only allowing one walk.

Avery Parman took the loss for the Lady Flashes with one strikeout and three walks.

Mattie Avants sparked BC’s offense with a home run and a single. Nettles fueled the flames with a triple and a single. Mallory Allen, Christian Black and Alexis Givens contributed a pair of singles. Hitting safely were Daley Roberts, Terrah Nelson, Zariah Matthews and Colby Kirkland.

Michelle Howington was the top slugger for the Lady Flashes with a double. Jordan McDonald, Brooklyn Richards, Sara Hudson and Julie Mabry hit safely.
