Graveside services for Clinton “Clint” M. Ikner Jr. are 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Monday, April 21, 2014, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service.

Mr. Ikner, 71, died April 18, 2014, at UAB Hospital, Birmingham, Ala. He was born on Feb. 28, 1943, in Mobile, Ala. to Clinton and Lou Ella (Lane) Ikner.

Clint grew up in Mobile and graduated from Baker High School in 1961. After high school he began work at Scott Paper Co. in Mobile, Ala. and worked there for 22 years. Looking for a laid back country atmosphere, Clint moved to Jayess where he opened and ran a full service gas station for 10 plus years and then became an employee of Mississippi Department of Transportation before retiring.

Upon officially retiring, Clint pursued his dream of becoming a cattle farmer, and became very good at it.

Clint married Linda (Rutland) Ikner in 1980, in Mobile, Ala. They were happily married for 34 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents and youngest son, Morgan DeVenice Ikner.

Survivors are his current spouse, Linda (Rutland) Ikner of Jayess; ex-wife, Faye (Richburg) Frost of Houston, Texas; his son, DeWayne (Angel) Ikner of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Michael Ikner and Matthew Ikner of Lafayette, Morgan Ikner and Alyssa Ikner of Grand Bay, Ala.; one great-grandchild, Alexander Ikner of Lafayette; four sisters, Carolyn (Ray) Davis, Delores (James) Flowers, Paulette (Dave) Henderson, Elaine (Butch) Collins, all of Mobile; along with countless cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
