Funeral services for Clyde Emmitt Britt of Lincoln County are 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the Red Star Ward in Lincoln County with burial in the Red Star Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church.

Mr. Britt, 99, died April 20, 2014, at Haven Hall Nursing Home. He was born in Lincoln County on Sept. 12, 1914, to the late Horace Britt and Rachel Falvey Britt.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the Red Star Ward and served in the US Army during World War II. He was retired from Stahl-Urban Company as a cutting room foreman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Mamie Williams Britt and Belva Britt; and five sisters.

He is survived by two daughters, Bonita Britt Laird and husband, Alfred, of Silver Creek and Vada Britt Roberts and husband, William, of Richmond, Va.; one sister, Mary Nell Brewer of Brookhaven, five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
