Denver Ray Hatchell

Funeral services for Denver Ray Hatchell of Wesson were noon on Monday, April 28, 2014, at Wesson Baptist Church with burial in Beauregard Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, was in charge of arrangements.
Visitation was Monday from 10:30 until time of the service.
Mr. Hatchell, 84, died April 26, 2014, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. He was born on March 29, 1930, in Denham Springs to Earl Hatchell and Addie Davis Hatchell.
Mr. Hatchell served in the U.S. Marine Corps having served during the Korean Conflict. He was also honorably discharged from the U.S. Air National Guard as Chief Master Sergeant. Mr. Hatchell retired as station manager of maintenance for Delta Airlines in New Orleans, La. He was nationally recognized by FAA, receiving the Charles Taylor Award for 50 years of aviation maintenance.
He liked to fish and loved football and was an avid LSU fan. He was a member of Wesson Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors are his wife Rosemary Stegall Hatchell of Wesson, they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 8th; two sons, James Mark Hatchell and wife, Susan, of Lafayette, La. and William Dennis Hatchell and his companion Yvonne Miller of Memphis, Tenn.; one daughter, Mary Lou Hatchell Chauvin and husband, Jeff, of Hammond, La.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; his brother-in-law, James Harold Stegall and wife, Carol Anne, of Baton Rouge.
