Sumrall Bobcats blank Franklin Co.

SUMRALL – Nick Clark was in the zone Thursday night, and for the Sumrall Bobcats that was all they needed to collect a 10-0 win over visiting Franklin County Bulldogs in Game 1 of round two of the Class 3A State Baseball Playoffs.
Clark struck out seven Bulldog batters and allowed only one hit in the five inning contest.
Game 2 takes place tonight at 7:05 in Bude. The Bulldogs must win to force Game 3 Saturday at Sumrall.
Hoby Mullins absorbed the loss for the Bulldogs, striking out one in three innings of work. The senior was plagued by several errors.
Sumrall scored two runs in the first inning, but added five in the second and three in the fourth. FCHS made six errors in the first three frames.
Thomas Slagle pitched a solid fourth inning for the Bulldogs, striking out one.
For Sumrall, Clark led all batters with three singles and three RBI’s. Logan McGraw added a double and a single for the Bobcats.
