Funeral services for Marquise Jarrell Cain of Meadville are noon on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Franklin County School Auditorium with burial in Hunt Cemetery. The Rev. Phillip Sterling will be officiating. Marshall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday, May 23, 2014, from 2 until 4 p.m. at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel and again on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Franklin County School Auditorium from 11 a.m. until time of service.

 

Mr. Cain, 16, died May 18, 2014, at Bunkley, Mississippi. He was born on May 21, 1997, in Brookhaven to Derico and Sylvia Marie Gant Cain.

He was a member of Franklin County High School Beta Club and was on the Franklin County High School football team; his number was 7.

Preceding him in death were his grandmothers, Irma Pearl Hankin Gant and Mary Henderson; grandfather, Wilbert Cain; two uncles, Wilbert Cain II and Cory Gant.

Survivors are his parents; grandfather, George Gant Sr.; three brothers, Derico Cain Jr., Reginald Cain and Kaleb Gant Webster; 11 aunts, Theresa Bee, Constance Gant, Oralee J. Gant, Deidre “John” Thompson, Susan Gant, Berdie Gant, Tamara “Eddie” O’Quinn, Mary “Larry” Townsend, Darlene “Larry” King, Doretha Cain and her companion, Larry Funchess, Annie Pearl “Larry” Robinson; four uncles, Derrick “Lorretta” Gant, Eric Gant, George Jr. “Shelia” Gant and Vernell Cain; special brothers, James O’Quinn, Tavis Ford, Tony Wells, Victor Smith, Kendrick Ford, Cole Middleton, Ivan Hughes, Antonio Christmas, James Thomas, Myson Coleman, Austin Wallace and Noah Lynch; and a host of other relatives and friends.
