Brookhaven native Laura Lee Lewis tied in the talent portion of the preliminary competition of Miss Mississippi Wednesday night.

Jasmine Murray, a Mississippi School of the Arts graduate, tied with Lewis, who is representing Mississippi State University in the pageant this year.

Preliminary rounds will continue tonight until Friday.

Lewis competed in group A. The preliminary competition includes talent, swimwear, evening wear and an on-stage question. The top 10 will be announced Saturday and will compete in the same four categories Saturday night. The next Miss Mississippi will be crowned at the conclusion of events Saturday.

Lewis is a 2011 graduate of Brookhaven High School and currently attends Mississippi State University. She currently holds the title of Miss Mississippi State.
