Marc Charles Crawford

Marc Charles Crawford, 53, died July 7, 2014 in Brookhaven, MS. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 17, 1961. His parents are Charles and Marilyn Crawford of Cedarville, Michigan who survive him. Marc graduated from Cedarville High School in 1979 and Hinds Junior College in Raymond, Mississippi in 1982. He served six years in the United States Navy including combat in the Persian Gulf War. Following his time in the Navy, he was employed by the United States Postal Service for 18 years in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
Mr. Crawford is survived by his wife Darlene “Coone” Crawford whom he married on April 3, 1984 in Bradenton, Florida. In addition to their recent move to Brookhaven, they previously resided in Charleston, South Carolina, Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and Brandon, Florida. He is also survived by three daughters, Darla “Steven” Jackson, Marcy Crawford and Tirzah Crawford. Additionally, Marc has one very dear grandson Ignatius. Mr. Crawford is also survived by his brother Seth “Lisa” Crawford of Novi, Michigan, his mother-in-law Juanita Coone of Brookhaven, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Mr. Crawford was a story-teller and was able to always come up with jokes and humorous stories. He liked history, politics, Detroit sports teams and enjoyed art as he created many drawings and oil paintings. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed his time with his Mississippi and Michigan relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Thursday, July 10, 2014 beginning at noon and the service following at 2:00 p.m. at the Brookhaven Funeral Home in Brookhaven, Mississippi.
