Funeral Services for James “Buck” Jones of Mendenhall are 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at Stringer Family Chapel with burial in Beauregard Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Stringer Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Jones, 87, died Aug. 5, 2014, at his residence.

He attended high school in Hazlehurst. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Mr. Jones worked as a construction foreman for ICCRR for 39 and a half years. He was a member of Wesson Baptist Church and of the American Legion Post 0079 of Wesson.

Preceding him in death was his son, Michael Jones.

Survivors are his wife, Dorothy Tyson; son, Keith Jones “Teri” of Huntsville, Alabama; daughter, Regenia Granger “Houston” of Hazlehurst; half-brother, Rod Will of Applegate, California; grandchildren, Casey Granger “Cynthia”, Paula Yarborough “Ken”, Garrett Jones and Katie Jones; and great-grandchildren, Maya Granger, Molly Granger and Maxim Yarborough.
