WESSON – Coming off of a 7-2 season in 2013 and returning key players in several positions, the Copiah-Lincoln Wolfpack are a team with weighty expectations and aspirations. On Tuesday the NJCAA preseason poll was released and the 2014 Wolfpack are ranked No. 3 in the nation.

In 2013, Co-Lin began the season No. 9 in the poll and eventually moved up to No. 5 before losing their first game. They were ranked No.11 in the final poll of the season.

Co-Lin opens the season on Aug. 28 when they host the No. 19 Itawamba Indians at 7 p.m. in Stone Stadium. On Sep. 4, the Wolfpack travel to take on the defending National Champion and No. 1 ranked East Mississippi Lions in Scooba at 7 p.m.

Other MACJC teams ranked in the NJCAA’s Top 20 include Mississippi Gulf Coast No. 9, Jones County No. 10, and Itawamba No. 19.
