Funeral Services for David A. Nance are 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at Stringer Family Chapel with burial in Hazlehurst Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Stringer Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Nance, 62, died Sept. 10, 2014, at his residence.

Mr. Nance had an outstanding personality and never met a stranger and really enjoyed woodworking. He was the former president of Louisville College in Louisville, Kentucky, former president of Rice College in Knoxville, Tennessee, and had been an independent insurance adjuster since 1993.

Survivors are his wife, Debbie Slay Nance of Hazlehurst; brother, Jerry Logston of Mayfield, Kentucky; sisters, Donna Clapp of Mayfield, Kentucky and Susan Nance of Bell City, Kentucky.
