POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Brookhaven Police Department’s report for Sunday was as follows:

• Sunday at 10:11 p.m. police responded to a 911 call reporting gunshots in the E. Monticello Street area. Police Chief Bobby Bell said officers did not see any activity at the scene. He said later they received a call from KDMC who reported a man came to the hospital saying he had a gunshot wound.

Bell said the man stated a large group of men were shooting at him. Bell said the man was injured on the side of his head but is not sure whether it was from a bullet, broken glass or some other kind of projectile.

Officers later found the man’s vehicle at the C-Store on Monticello Street.

Bell said the incident is still under investigation.
