West Lincoln place sixth in Watson Ford meet

CLINTON – The West Lincoln Bears and Lady Bears both finished in sixth place in the Watson Ford cross-country meet at Mississippi College Choctaw Trails last Saturday.

In the varsity boys 5K run, Jason Watts finished third overall for West Lincoln but was the first Bear to finish with a time of 18:02. Jordan Montgomery finished with a time of 20:33. Adam Martinez at 20:53, Todd Calcote at 21:20 and Jonathan Mathis at 21:33.

In the varsity girls 5K run, Lillianne Rushing was the top runner for the Lady Bears with a time of 24:08. Jana Case finished behind Rushing with a time of 24:55. Georganna Allen at 24:59, Lexis Leggett at 25:26 and Carlie Smith at 26:44.

In junior varsity boys 2-mile run, Jared Mathis finished first for West Lincoln with a time of 15:46. Jacob Lofton came in second with a time of 15:55. Caleb Weeks at 17:00, Parker Travis at 18:13 and Josh Smith at 20:28.

In JV girls 2-mile meet, Gracee Warren was the top runner for the Lady Bears with a time of 19:34. Anna Johnson came second with a time of 20:10. Maddux Redd at 21:06, Leann Chisholm at 21:34 and Melanie Boyd at 22:43.
