Funeral Services for Gwendolyn Ariece “Momma Lisa” Smith Nunaley of Brookhaven are 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at Bethel AME Church with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, from 1 until 6 p.m. at Williams Mortuary.
Mrs. Nunaley, 56, died Nov. 15, 2014, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. She was born on Aug. 2, 1958, in Hazlehurst to Louis S. Smith and Velma Bailey Smith.
She was a registered nurse, and phlebotomist x-ray technologist. She was a 1976 graduate of Brookhaven High School and later attended Copiah Lincoln Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi where she became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She was a member of Bethel AME Church.
Preceding her in death were her father; grandparents; four aunts; and four uncles.
Survivors are her mother; sons, Charles Lewanika of Brookhaven and Evan Nunaley of Hattiesburg; daughters, Danelle Nunaley and Wendi Nunaley, both of Hattiesburg; two grandchildren, Charviah Lewanika and Za’Rya Nunaley, both of Brookhaven; brother, Nickita Smith and wife, Petra, of Brookhaven; sister, Diane Marshall of Jackson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
