Panthers thump South Pike

MAGNOLIA – The Brookhaven Panthers secured a split over South Pike Tuesday night in basketball action.

In the girls’ game, the South Pike Lady Eagles soared past the Lady Panthers 66-20.

In boys’ action, the Panthers captured a 60-41 victory over South Pike.

Brookhaven continue action Thursday as they prepare to visit West Lincoln. The girls tip off at 6 p.m., followed by the boys.

Tavis Moore pumped in a team-high 11 points to lead the Ole Brook Panthers. Damarius Brooks and Shon Blackwell chipped in with 10 points apiece. Randy Wilson was the leader on the boards with six rebounds.

“This was a hard fought game,” said BHS coach Preston Wilson. “We managed to get off to a good start after a sluggish start in the first quarter. Second quarter was the turning point for us as our defensive pressure help us get some easy transition baskets.”
