Enterprise girls notch road win, St. Andrews boys victorious

MADISON – Basketball fans from Enterprise traveled north Tuesday night as the Yellow Jackets battled the Saint Andrews Saints on the hardwood.

In varsity girls’ action, the Lady Jackets overpowered Saint Andrews for a 48-32 win.

In the varsity boys’ game, Saint Andrews used an 18-7 third quarter run to pull away from Enterprise 66-54.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Saturday afternoon as they host the Franklin County Bulldogs for four games beginning at 1:00 pm.

Enterprise 48, St. Andrews 32 

Tough defense and a balanced scoring attack helped Enterprise jump out to a 9-5 lead after one quarter of action. The Lady Jackets continued to play well on the defensive end of the floor throughout the second quarter as they pushed their lead to 20-11 at halftime.

Saint Andrews was finally able to solve some issues on offense in the second half by scoring 21 points but would still come up short in the 48-32 loss.

Enterprise was led by two players in double figures as Alissa Barlow netted 12 points and Carlee Nations added 11 points. Megan Rippy grabbed six rebounds in the win for the Lady Jackets.

Saint Andrews was led in scoring by Yasenta Davis with a game-high 15 points.

St. Andrews 66, Enterprise 54

The boys’ contest provided an exciting back-and-forth game as both teams made significant runs throughout. Saint Andrews started off hot as they captured a 17-10 lead after one quarter of action.

Enterprise (3-3), managed a 16-8 run in the second quarter as sophomore Dwayne Pendleton scored 9 of his 20 points in the frame as the Jackets roared back to a 26-25 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Saint Andrews outscored Enterprise 18-7 which proved to be the difference in the 66-54 victory.

Jontavious Smith added 11 points to go along with Pendleton’s 20 to lead Enterprise.

Saint Andrews was powered by Jordan Augustine’s 19 points.

Enterprise 16, St. Andrews 12 

In junior varsity girls’ action, the Enterprise Lady Jackets picked up the road win 16-12. The Lady Jackets were led by Emaya Smith with 6 points. Carlee Nations added 5 points in the win for Enterprise.

St. Andrews 39, Enterprise 27 

In the junior varsity boys’ game, Saint Andrews defeated Enterprise 39-27. The Saints were led by Jake Johnston’s 10 points. Enterprise got a game-high 14 points from sophomore Austin Carter. Cade Feltus chipped in with 6 points for the Jackets in the loss.
