Panthers roar past North Pike

SUMMIT – The Brookhaven Panthers were victorious Friday night with a 77-40 win over the North Pike Jaguars in high schools basketball action.
Brookhaven is thrill to finally to get to play at home this Tuesday after playing a month of road games. The Panthers and Lady Panthers will host the Terry Bulldogs. The girls game starts at 6 p.m., followed by the boys contest.
Brookhaven’s Sin Clair Gymnasium has been closed for renovations on the locker rooms and rest rooms and a few other things.
Brookhaven 77, North Pike 40
Brookhaven’s high-octane offense was too much for the Jaguars to handle Friday night as the Panthers stormed out to a 22-11 lead after one quarter of action.
The Panthers continued to dominate in the second quarter with a 16-7 push to take a 38-18 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Ole Brook continued to overpower the Jaguars with 18-17 run in the third quarter and a 21-5 explosion in the fourth quarter to secured the victory.
Junior forward Garrick Smith powered the Panthers with 14 points and seven rebounds. Shon Blackwell chipped in with 13 points, Randy Wilson, Triq Reese and Tavis Moore helped on the boards with five rebounds apiece.
Darrian Wilson, Danarius Gray, Lazorian McNulty and Reese contributed eight points apiece. Marte Jones Moore had five points. Damarius Brooks and Wilson netted four points each.
